Summary
Our work with leading Suffolk academy Thomas Mills High School & Sixth Form has encompassed a number of projects including the development of a cohesive use of their brand identity through web design, print and video.
We created a brand new website showcasing the school’s ethos, dedication – and importantly – the students who enjoy learning at Thomas Mills High School & Sixth Form.
The website has been designed so that parents and students can easily find and access a large amount of information the school contains on their site. There are dedicated sections for students and parents and more general areas of information including event calendars, latest news and galleries.
We have worked with Kerry and her team at Splice Creative for a number of years now during which time they have transformed our marketing and publicity.
Having undertaken a strategic marketing review for the school, they were able to accurately advise how we could improve. Having implemented the suggested changes, we have seen interest in our school increase dramatically.
The whole team is so accommodating, so skilled and quite simply experts in what they do.
We have enjoyed working on a variety of video projects with Thomas Mills, including capturing the feel of their very well attended Open Evenings and hearing from students who have benefited from their time at the school.
In 2025, Thomas Mills celebrated their 45th anniversary with a gala concert at Snape Maltings. We combined this concert with carrying out a number of interviews with school alumni, as well as a full edit and multitrack music production of the audio from the night.
Since 2021, Splice Creative have designed prospectuses annually for both Thomas Mills High School & Sixth Form.
Apart from the obvious aim of attracting new admissions and use at enrichment days, we were also keen to get across the love of learning, creativity and varied opportunities for student development at the school. This was accentuated by some eye-catching photography showcasing the students and the subjects they enjoy.
The designs have been well received and have contributed to the success of Thomas Mills in attracting record numbers of new students to the main school and their sixth form in recent years.
The school were very receptive to our ideas around branding. We suggested incorporating the Sixth Form into the full school name to highlight Thomas Mills’ comprehensive 11-18 education.
We then undertook a signage audit and designed a brand refresh with welcoming new external and internal signage, new marketing materials for open days and talks, as well as large scale graphic displays throughout the school with bespoke illustrations.
The result is a cohesive, confident identity that reflects the school’s ambition and community spirit, visible from the moment visitors arrive on site. Prospective parents and students now experience a consistent, welcoming brand story at every touchpoint, helping Thomas Mills stand out and reinforcing its reputation as a forward-thinking, comprehensive place to learn.
