Splice Creative has been working with Breckland Council on a series of videos to promote their innovative new VR and AR app, BreckWorld.
The council wanted to add some impact to the launch of the app, which shows the main towns in the Breckland area plus many local attractions in 360 degree video to help promote tourism to the area.
We produced a 30 second video featuring the voice of Stephen Fry who has lent his support to the initiative. The brief was to give a quick overview of the main features of the app, as well as encouraging viewers to go and give it a try.
We mixed some live interaction with the app together with a demonstration of how the AR footage can be seen in situ across the area. This was achieved by giving the viewer the most realistic view possible in the short time available.
At the time of writing, the video has already been viewed more than 30,000 times on YouTube and has led to a large number of downloads, with the app appearing in the top 150 global downloads chart after launch.
As well as the public-facing video, we also produced a longer form video for the council to show key stakeholders and councillors the benefits of the app to local tourism, as well as the return on their investment in the project.
